Hi, my name is Michelle and and I am half of The Frisco Project. My favorite things to do are reading books, photography, and tackling projects around the house. I love cooking and baking as well when I can find the time or energy to do it. If I were to go back to college again, I would major in Photography or Interior Design, which is the complete opposite of the Industrial & Organizational Psychology degree I have. I am married to my best friend and am currently a mom to two wonderful little boys!
The other half of The Frisco Project would be my husband, Justin. He is a hard working, funny, supportive man and I am lucky to have him. His favorite thing to do is golf. Both of us are originally from Palm Desert, California and went to the same high school (go Aztecs!), we both moved to San Diego to attend SDSU (go Aztecs!). Or if my husband were telling the story, he would say that I “followed” him, yeah right, whatever…we remained good friends throughout college and started dating my Senior year (the year after he graduated). He proposed to me in Rome, Italy and we were married in 2006 surrounded by our family and friends. We decided that San Diego is where we wanted to be so we bought a home and settled in.
Our first son, Jacob, was born in January 2013. His favorite things are anything that has a motor, cars, trucks, tractors, airplanes, motorcycles, garbage trucks, delivery trucks, etc…He brings so much love and laughter into our home and hearts. We are continuously amazed by him and so blessed to be his parents.
Our second son, Dylan, was born in May 2015. He is our happy, smiley, blue eyed boy! He is the perfect addition to our family and I know he loves his mom and dad very much, but his favorite person in the whole world is his big brother.
We love to travel and explore new places. So far we’ve been to London, Italy, Sicily, Spain, Germany, France, Amsterdam, Maui, Mexico, and various places in the US. Our next dream destination is Australia & New Zealand, one day…we will get there. We are always planing our next project around the house and watch a lot of HGTV, DIY home improvement shows. Which is dangerous on Saturday mornings since we typically end up at Home Depot or ACE Hardware buying supplies. Neither one of us is even remotely close to perfect, but we try to be good to our friends, hard workers and loving and supportive to each other. Life has thrown us some curve balls that we have worked through with lots of prayer and patience and have come out the other side stronger than before. We are blessed with an amazing group of friends and a large family that I don’t know where we would be without.
BEHIND THE NAME
When we were trying to think of a name for this blog I was not excited about anything we were coming up with. One Saturday, day we were out running errands and stopped to grab a drink (beer for Justin, raspberry lemonade for me) and some fries, I once again brought up the topic of blog names. This is when Justin came up with The Frisco Project. I can’t tell you exactly why, but I liked it. I think it is a name that represents a big “project” that we’ve been working on for the last 3 years with trying to start a family. In fact, my grandpa once hugged me and told me that he was praying for our “project” to work out (in regards to getting pregnant). I also can see it relating to things that we will encounter in the future (especially being parents). My husband and I are both planners, and when we get an idea in our heads we will talk it over, analyze it and plan, plan, plan until it is done. We always have something we are working towards, so I guess you would say we are “project orientated”. Really if you think about it…marriage, jobs, relationships, and life in general takes work, lots of thought, time, energy and they all are, in a way, a Project. So the name stuck and now we give you The Frisco Project 🙂
